My Experience & Credentials

For the past 12 years, I have been in private practice treating adult individuals and couples. My diverse experience and training allow me to provide comprehensive support for a wide spectrum of concerns, including:

  • anxiety, depression, grief, loss, life transitions, and family conflict

  • relationship difficulties

  • obstacles inherent in pursuing a creative life

  • trauma stemming from difference, “othering” or marginalization, persistent negative self-belief, violent crimes, and physical, emotional, or sexual abuse—both in childhood and as an adult

  • sexual expression, gender identification and transition, non-monogamy, and other challenges resulting from defining relationship, orientation, gender, or sexuality outside historically traditional societal norms.

Before establishing my private practice, I honed my skills in a variety of settings that have significantly shaped my approach. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, I worked at the behavioral health division of a prominent New Orleans arts organization to provide psychotherapy to musicians and cultural stewards who sought healing and renewal. As the clinical lead and first program director of a small residential facility, I played a pivotal role in the inception of a compassionate initiative dedicated to empowering women who had endured sex trafficking or were leaving prostitution.

In addition to my accumulated mental health expertise and education, my practice benefits from my rich and wide-ranging life experiences. My unique perspective is rooted in my previous career, in which I owned my own business and nurtured the careers and creative lives of musicians. This work fostered a deep understanding of the human experience and the importance of personal growth in creative and all other aspects of life.
